/ How To Keep Him Interested /

A Daddy’s Letter to his Little Girl About Her Future Husband

Dr. Kelly Flanigan is a therapist who has seen women who needs a good man in their life time and time again. He wanted to write a letter to not only his little girl, but to every woman out there. It’s a fantastic reminder of what a man needs to be to his wife.
Untitled-Father-and-Daughter

Dear Cutie-Pie,
Recently, your mother and I were searching for an answer on Google. Halfway through entering the question, Google returned a list of the most popular searches in the world. Perched at the top of the list was “How to keep him interested.”
It startled me. I scanned several of the countless articles about how to be sexy and sexual, when to bring him a beer versus a sandwich, and the ways to make him feel smart and superior.
And I got angry.
Little One, it is not, has never been, and never will be your job to “keep him interested.”
Little One, your only task is to know deeply in your soul—in that unshakeable place that isn’t rattled by rejection and loss and ego—that you are worthy of interest. (If you can remember that everyone else is worthy of interest also, the battle of your life will be mostly won. But that is a letter for another day.)
If you can trust your worth in this way, you will be attractive in the most important sense of the word: you will attract a boy who is both capable of interest and who wants to spend his one life investing all of his interest in you.
Little One, I want to tell you about the boy who doesn’t need to be keptinterested, because he knows you are interesting:
I don’t care if he puts his elbows on the dinner table—as long as he puts his eyes on the way your nose scrunches when you smile. And then can’t stop looking.
I don’t care if he can’t play a bit of golf with me—as long as he can play with the children you give him and revel in all the glorious and frustrating ways they are just like you.
I don’t care if he doesn’t follow his wallet—as long as he follows his heart and it always leads him back to you.
I don’t care if he is strong—as long as he gives you the space to exercise the strength that is in your heart.
I couldn’t care less how he votes—as long as he wakes up every morning and daily elects you to a place of honor in your home and a place of reverence in his heart.
I don’t care about the color of his skin—as long as he paints the canvas of your lives with brushstrokes of patience, and sacrifice, and vulnerability, and tenderness.
I don’t care if he was raised in this religion or that religion or no religion—as long as he was raised to value the sacred and to know every moment of life, and every moment of life with you, is deeply sacred.
In the end, Little One, if you stumble across a man like that and he and I have nothing else in common, we will have the most important thing in common:
You.
Because in the end, Little One, the only thing you should have to do to “keep him interested” is to be you.
Your eternally interested guy,
Daddy
I thought this article was way too inspirational and meaningful not to share. It helps us women (assuming that most of my readers are women.. but boys take note too!) remind ourselves that we can't blame ourselves for being the only single one out of our group of friends or a failed relationship and even a failed marriage.

There is so much pressure to find someone and build a life with them and eventually a family. This leaves us single folks thinking, "what's wrong with me?"

And the answer is NOTHING.
your more beautiful than CINDERELLA.. you smell like PINE NEEDLES And your face is like SUNSHINE:)

"You're more beautiful than Cinderella. You smell like pine needles, and you have a face like sunshine."

(Could'nt find a pic that had this picture with the quote not cut off. Couldn't pass on that facial expression. But I'm sure you know where this is from/what it says. If not.. stop what you're doing and watch Bridesmaids.. NOW.)

So don't binge read articles in Cosmo giving you advice on what you should do, wear and say to get a man because you won't attract a man that genuinely likes you for you.

Put that magazine down and go for a run, get coffee, read a book.

Do something that makes YOU happy.

// Inner workings of my mind //

I'm definitely not what society considers as conventional beauty but, I love myself. .

No im not in love with myself, I'm just content with myself..

When I was younger I would try everything to achieve this ideal beauty but as I got older I stopped trying to change myself and started to except myself. Who I am, what I want to be, my body, my face, everything. I hope everyone can become completely content with who they are because once you decide to love the things that are different about you everyone else will think that too. So forget the haters.. they're just uncomfortable in their own skin. There are so many uplifting and inspirational people out there and once you have a positive outlook on yourself, you'll be surprised to see what the people and universe start to bring.

I'm in Love.

These British boys have stolen my heart.

Especially the lead singer Matt Healy.

I love how you can hear Matts British accent when he sings. Such talented boys. I really wish I could see them when they come to Chicago on October 19th but, the tickets are sold out. :'(

I will not give up though.

We will meet someday Matt.

.. and you will fall in love with me and all will be right in the world.

// Bridget Bardot //

I've recently watched an 1950's French film that starred Bridget Bardot called, And God Created Women.

I've always thought Mrs. Bardot was a beautiful woman but this movie made me fall in love with her because of her witty, provocative, and mischievous character.

Now I understand why this was the movie that set off her career.

With that being said I decided to dedicate a post just to this beautiful woman.

// But.. I don't have anything to wear //

Hey guys.

So I'm going to start this new thing where I post "a song of the day" .. or week.. or whenever I blog again.. hah

I'm open to any type of music.. so if I like a song.. from any genre.. I'll share it with you.

 Lovely Clothes & People!!

I know we've all been there.

Searching through our piles of clothes in our closest but, somehow.. still have nothing to wear.

So what does one do to find something to wear.. ?
.. Go to the mall?
no.

.. Go online shopping?
no.

.. Go in your sisters closest?
maybe.

.. Go to your "inspirational pictures" folder on your PC?
YES!

Whenever I don't know what to wear I always look at pictures I have saved over the years for inspiration. Some are random and ridiculous but they stood out for me at the time so I would go ahead and safe them. It was basically my own personal "Pinterest" before Pinterest was even introduced to me.

But, I do have a Pinterest now.. so you should check it out  ;)

So... these photos are clusters of my favorite outfits. I would look at these pictures among many others to inspire me to come up with cute outfits with clothes I already own.

Of course I wish I had the money to buy a different outfit for everyday in the year but.. lets face it. I'm broke.

Anywho, as you can tell I love the bohemian/maxi dress/prints.. type of style but, I also love grungy/edgy/laid back clothes as well. So whenever I can merge the two.. (leather jacket/ girly dress combo anyone???)

 I am a happy gal.

So there you have it.. hope you enjoyed the pictures!
